Symbol Question

I'm new to the program and I'm going to the tutorial and I've noticed that the symbols used in the tutorial sample maps I load are of a higher quality than sample map I'm creating. How to I access the higher quality symbols?

I am guessing you are accessing the vector symbols instead of the raster symbols. Right click on the Symbol Style Toggle button , and select Filled. This will change to the appropriate symbol style.

If you are using the raster symbol, just getting a poor resolution, check the Display Speed Settings
