A small problem that involves moving objects

So whenever I try to lay down a building or something close to a path, the building will then suddenly rotate itself in a 90 degree angle and then it gets stuck on this one way path where, wherever I move my cursor the building will only relocate in an X or Y access. Now, I have turned off the grid button, the snap button, and also the smart tracking button, and I am still experiencing this problem. Any suggestions?

Right click in the map while placing the symbol to get to the symbol option box, then check the "disable smart symbols option". This will prevent the building from snapping to paths, and give you full manual control.

I ran into another question, this one is probably really simple.

How do I create a square object with a color of my choice? When I click the square tool on the right and place it down, it only gives me the same color it would if I was placing a road down.

Select the color at the top, and then click o nthe Box tool. Then draw your box on the map.

You know, I had tried that already and it still gave me the same color as the path default color. I may have messed with a setting or something, what do you guys think?

I can't make it do that. I select a color and then box, the box is a different color.

Would you mind posting your map as a zip file ?

weirdest thing, I started working on something else, and then when I went to use the square tool it started working normally again. Thanks anyways.

Here is another problem I am having.... You guys know when you want to scale the canvas to a larger or smaller size, and all you need to do is click the scale button then... well yeah. My problem is this, when I try to scale my canvas to a larger/smaller size it will only scale that little white border around it, but the actual canvas does not move at all. Whats weird is, when I open up a new map, it scales like it suppose to. Did I some how "lock" the canvas? Please help.

i)For your square, you probably didn't set the fill style to solid or hollow the first times.

ii) check the layers list. The template layer is probably frozen.
