CD3 problem

I've only just bought CD3\CD3 (and some other add-ons) everything seems to be working fine except this problem with CD3; I'm not sure what that blank button is there for, and when I press it I get the attached error "Error loading file" - I do notice that the error mesage says CC2 at the top, not CC3 though. I'm running Vista with but I followed the help & have used all the appropriate patches (I think)

    The two I have over that way are for the SMC:castles and SMC:tombs add-ons.

    I don't own either of those (only DD3 & the first two symbol packs), so I guess a it's a bug in my install. Here's a screenshot the error message I get when I press that button:

    It is likely just a phantom button...

    Go to your cc3 folder and run the program cc3menuconfig

    That should clear it up, if not, someone else might have an answer.

    From the position it looks like the button for Source Maps Cities. Does it show when you switch to the CC3 or DD3 menus?

    To get rid of it, open the file city.mnu (in your CC3 program folder) in an text editor and remove lines #430 or #431 (whichever is present). Let me know which line it was.
  • Sorry for the late reply.
    When I switch to DD3 or CC3 the SM:Castles button appears & the other addon buttons shown in the screenshot above dissapear. If I hover over the phantom button the hover text reads Cities menu, so it is the SM:Cities button.
    In city.mnu I don't get line #430 or #431, the lines skip from:
    #428,SMC:[Castles Menu]{~|CMENU SYSTEM\smc.mnc;}~|SYMICONMR;SYMICONFLOAD Castle;MENUDM #castle.mnu;
    to
    #501,CC2LAND:[Default Landmass]{|DRAWTOOLSM;Land*;}|DRAWTOOLSM;Land, Default*;

    It doesn't seem to be interfering with CC3,CD3 or DD3 in any way, so I'll ignore it unless anyone has any other ideas. :)

    Please run the file ConfigMenu.exe within your CC3 program folder - that should fix the buttons. Also, make sure you have the latest update to CC3 installed after the add-ons (Update 8, available from the registration page).
  • I think I've figured out the source problem: running configmenu.exe & re-installing update 8 got rid of all added buttons except the castles one, so I tried running configmenu.exe again. All the buttons re appeared. Installing update 8 over the to of that removes them all (again, apart from the SM:Castles button).
    So, the phantom button has disappeared for me - I hope the info helps you bugfix.
