Mountain Compound

edited February 25 in Show and Tell

This was a map I made for a campaign involving a cult of space-crazed alien worshipers (the Night Heralds from Pathfinder). It's built primarily inside a low mountain, with a nearby village of enslaved lizardfolk.

Assets and textures came mostly from CC3+, Mike Schley, and Forgotten Adventures.

The exposed portion of the fortress is primarily an observatory with a two-story tower.

Tower level one, an astronomy lab.

Tower level two, the grand magical telescope known as the Eye That Stares Into The Void.

Below the ground floor is the first dungeon level, with barracks for slaves and guards alike.

Dungeon level two is home the rank and file cultists, and features a tavern, salon, and public baths heated by magic. There is also a secondary exit that leads to a switchback path down the mountain (E3).

Dungeon level three is for research. It includes two libraries, a museum, and a balcony that looks down into the floor below, a giant animated orrery suspended at its center (area F14).

Dungeon level four features all manner of laboratories. The massive orrery (G15) takes up two stories and leads to the floor above.

Dungeon level five is the domain of the cults' leaders, and also has a shrine dedicated to the black void of space (area H37).

And last, I have an obsessive need to make cutaways to help me visualize space. This is not pretty, but it gives a good sense of scale.
