Joseph Sweeney has created an awesome video tutorial on overland maps and sheets. Enjoy.
Enjoy!
The patch is included in the City Designer 3 installer, so if you already downloaded that, no need to get the patch.
Check "Help > About CC3..." in your CC3 menu, and if the CC version says 3.22, you have the latest one. If not, go to the registration page, register your CC3 (if you haven't already) and you'll see the link to Patch 6 on the right of the page.
Here are the changes included in v3.22:
- added resources for City Designer 3 release
- fixed FPATH command to not automatically close the shape
- added LIGHT commands and accompanying sheet effects
- added SKEEP command and wrapped KEEP to use it (also affects the current sheet)
- wrapped ERASE command to always use ERA
- updated CC3 overland templates to put text on the TEXT sheet automatically
- updated sheet effects on CC3 Overland templates
- updated CC3 overland drawing tools
Many thanks to Allyn for the help on this one!
The SMC compatibility update makes all the Castle drawing tools, templates and symbols available in CC3 to owners of SM: Castles!. It also updates the castle maps with sheets and sheet effects.
Patch 7 is mainly an update to the CC3 help files, bringing them up to speed for City Designer 3 and adding entries for the Light commands, shaded polys and new sheet effects. It also fixes the problem with the CC3 document icon not showing up for FCW and FCT files, and resizes sheet and layer dialogs for better ease of use.
Enjoy!
You can find the video tutorials on the User Tutorials page.
And the User Manual is available from the registration page, if you have registered your copy of CC3.
Enjoy!
This concludes the Annual 2008; I hope you enjoyed the ride as much as I did. Look for an announcement of the Annual 2009 and the boxed version of this year's collected issues in the next few days.
The SMC compatibility update makes all the Temple drawing tools, templates and symbols available in CC3 to owners of SM: Temples, Tombs and Catacombs! It also updates the included maps with sheets and sheet effects.

Created by yours truly, it contains a detailed series of deckplans depicting a 18th century sailing ship, complete with room-by-room description, NPCs and adventure ideas. A sheets and effects guide explains the setup of the maps. Enjoy!
Enjoy a beautiful new overland mapping style originally created by Pär Lindström, a contributor at the Cartographer's Guild forum, and converted to a CC3 style by yours truly.
It's Allyn's second Annual issue, this time teaching us how to create beautiful ancient-style strip maps, perfectly suited to describing roads and journeys from the traveller's perspective.
The June issue covers doing ornamentation for your maps, especially by converting symbol fonts to CC3 symbol catalogs and using those in the map.
It contains a tutorial on using a pdf printer to create pdf and bitmap versions of your maps, together with a general discussion of printing options. Enjoy!
Enjoy a new mapping style for battle maps of the Napoleonic era (or any other really).
Forum regular Joachim de Ravenbel takes you on a tour de force through CC3's macro capabilities with two very useful macros. More information can be found on the Annual site.

The October issue brings you a Modern Atlas style for your overland maps, inspired by, converted from and expanded on my own Jhendor-style campaign maps.
Enjoy!
It contains a symbol pack dealing with NATO-standard symbology for military units and creating your own symbol catalogs from symbol parts.
Enjoy!
The update consolidates all the recent downloads we made available for CC3 (manual, new vector drawing styles, new drawing tools), and very importantly fixes the stability issues some user have experienced under Vista.
It also introduces several new features like improved bitmap export, isometric hex grid, new drawing tool shapes and new sheet effects. See the Readme that appears after installation for details.
The December Annual provides tools and guides to create side views and cross-section maps for buildings, created by Joachim de Ravenbel, as for example seen on this thread here on the forum.
As a special thanks to our community, ProFantasy will release a special, free Annual 2009 issue a little later in December. Look forward to Joseph Sweeney's geomorphic battle tiles, complete with video instructions!
Also check out the Annual Laboratory for an extra-feature in CC3's new bitmap export options (introduced with Update 8).
We've also released a special, free issue of this year's Annual.
