And for something completely different, for me.
Well I saw a map the other day, then this idea sprung in my head.
Just wanted to do a monocromatic map. Started with a river, then a cloverleaf highway. Made all the main thouroughfares. Then filled in all the laneways.
Absolutely just a random thing. Still have about half left to go.
Comments
Updated. It's a river valley city, kind of like the city I live in. So I added in vegetation.
Sheet effects are off for this one.
Looking good so far. My only comment at this point is I think that the background grey is too dark. YMMV
Complete. I could add some greenspaces through the map, but work with little gain.
Made a few alternate versions. One is white background. The other is like a transit map. (tried to make the trees green, but I made them into a basic symbol. I think it would be way to much work to convert them)
This wasn't really for any type of setting. Just a proof of concept / artistic endeavour.
I like them. They each would have uses. The second one might be on a wall at the police station. The third one might fit in at a visitor's center. These are great.
Still looking good. I have two notes,
1 There are two secondary road that end at or join the freeway "Clover Leaf" on the north side. I would think they need to end before they touch the freeway.
2 I think the white background is too light for what you were original go for. May be a light grey, lighter than the river but not white. Again YMMV.
Ohh thanks for that. I don't know what the hell I was doing there? IMaybe I was going to do a service road beside the highway?!?!?! I don't know.
Cool thanks for the input Kert, I'll put them on clip art lol.
