Best methodology for designing islands "by hand" with FT3
Would you recommend simply raising and lowering terrain in the shape you want, using Simple Create Mode, both, or something else? What map resolution would you use for this process?
I've tried via simply raising and lowering terrain but it sadly ends up too bumpy and unrealistic.

Have you looked at The One Day Worldbuilder pdf included with FT? (ProgramData\Profantasy\FT35\Documentation)
I'm not suggesting that you make a whole world, but it might help you get a few ideas about resolutions and methods.
Remember that if you change the resolution on an existing world the shape of the landmasses may change quite a bit.
Or draw a selection and fill with an altitude.
As with most things in life, the best results start by describing what you're trying to accomplish.
I am planning on making an archipelago as a setting for a MUD and want to try and design the island without too much random influence. Sorry if I did not add enough information previously.
ask @Dak The Islands Master 😎
How large is the archipelago and how large are the islands? FT is not particularly good at fine details.
If you have the 2022 annual it has the Island Chain which is really easy to make a zone with many islands.
