Adding add-ins

I can't find how to add add-ins to my copy of CC3+. How is it done?

Comments

  • Anything you download should automatically be added into your CC3+. Unless you did not install it to the same directory.

You can re-install and make sure they go to the same destination. If you removed the installers you can always redownload from the main site and your profile.

Did you buy the humble bundle?

  • Put up a screenshot of your program running so we can see the icons on the top bar.

  • Yes, I downloaded the HB offer, and as far as I can see they're in the install directory (N:\Profanity\CC3Plus), but while the Dungeon and City add-ons are mentioned in the Tools->Add Ons menu, the others are missing.

  • Sorry, the add-ons are in the separate HB directory. Presumably, those files should be copied into the other directory.

  • I should mention that the HB directory is on drive N:\Profantasy\Humble Bundle - Profantasy.

After further ferreting, I saw an old post that said the program should be loaded onto the C: drive. I run it from a copy as a desktop directory, which was added after the install, but I don't think that qualifies as a C: installation. Is this still true?

  • Here is how your Campaign Cartographer 3+ should look.

Symbol Set 1 annd 2 are built in.

  • If you have it correct, all the annuals will appear here.

  • So I definitely need to install on C:\.

I need to uninstall and reinstall the program. However, I can't uninstall programmatically (i.e. using Settings/Apps). Do I just delete the software?

You don't need to install on c:\

What happens when you install CC3+ is that a very tiny portion of the program is always installed on C no matter what you pick in the installer. The bulk of the program is installed to wherever you pick in the installer, and it is fine to put that on any drive (Should be a local drive though, not external drive or network drive)

If you have parts that seems to be installed outside the data directory, it might be that you have performed an artwork-only install on those components. This type of install is intended for people not using CC3+, but just want the artwork for use in other software. The files in these directories are NOT the complete set of files CC3+ needs, so they should not be manually copied into your CC3+ data directory. I think just re-running the installer for those "missing" products should help. The separate art file directories are just a bunch of image files, and can be safely deleted manually.
