Inserting symbols from the symbol manager?
Hello folks,
Got the bundle and been enjoying playing with CC3+ and exploring the great art in the annuals. I make a living making maps in QGIS and it takes a bit of adjusting working in a CAD style program. But it's inspiring and very fun for sure. Just got a couple questions.
1) How can I insert a symbol from the symbol manager onto the map? I forgot to put a scalebar in, I'd just like to add it but can't find how to do it. Except by starting over from the template. I can't see the scalebar or north arrow in the symbol catalogs, it's just there in the symbol manager.
2) How do I edit text? Not the text properties but the actual text? For example on a misspelled label.
Thanks in advance.

You should find it in the "Symbols in Map" side of the Symbol panel. Click the leftmost of the two buttons underneath the Options button - the green one.
The same symbols you see in the symbol manager is available if you click Symbols in Map
on the top of the symbol catalog window.
Text is edited by using Numeric Edit
on the text entity. Remember, text have to be selected by clicking on the baseline of the letters.
Great! Thanks to you both. Never would have tried numeric edit on a text label, I've become too database-brained for that.
Numeric edit edits all kinds of underlying data, based on the entity type, the main point is that it changes the data rather than the properties. I think the name is just due to historical reasons, we have quite a long legacy by now.
