Issue with editing properties

At 35:00 in @Ralf 's Live Mapping Fractal Terrains 3 to CC3+ video (located here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuhB_LXr3Sg ), he uses the edit properties button on the tool bar to highlight the coastline. However, I don't seem to be having the same options he has. First screenshot is what pops up for him when he presses the Edit Properties button, second is mine. Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

That looks like your selection method may be off? Possibly by an aborted macro at some point.
Take a look at Tools > Options > Select Method in the menu. Make sure it is set to "Dialog or Popup". Does that fix your issue?
I think you used the wrong button. In the video, Ralf used Change Properties, but you write Edit Properties in your post, and that prompt is indeed the expected one if you use Edit Properties.
The change Properties and Edit Properties button do look a bit similar, so they are easy to confuse.
