Drawing a perfect spiral?

Does anyone have any tips for drawing a perfect spiral? Maybe something involving the Smooth Path draw tool, perhaps with snaps or maybe with the Cubic, Parabolic, or Bezier curves?

This is for use with the Symbols Along... draw function, but I could see the technique being useful for other architectural and design purposes.
