Layer Boxes
Ok, I have been using Campaign Cartographer for a very very long time, way before CC3, and have been using CC3 for I don't know how long. I have a version from like 2014-2015 on my laptop, and recently installed a newer version on a new PC. In the old version the layer boxes were large and easy to see/click but in the new version they are miniscule. Anyone know what is going on with this and is there anything I can do about it?

Most of us see this:
Have you adjusted either the windows or CC settings for larger/smaller text/buttons?
Not that I am aware of. This is windows 11, and a new PC I only built a few months ago, and then only installed CC3 on this past weekend
Mine is Win 11 as well.
Maybe others have different experiences than mine, and can tell us what this is.
well I just thought that MAYBE its because I am at 4k resolution on this new PC, vs 1080p or 1k on the old laptop. I dont see why ONLY the boxes in layers would be effected differently, but I guess that could be the reason.
I have... whatever resolution is default for this 27 inch monitor. Did you up yours, or is it the default res?
EDIT: Yep. 1080
Ok, I decided to check on resolution. I switched to 1080p and boxes were fine. I went back to 4k without scaling and it was fine (although everything was tiny), and then I went back to 4k with everything scaled up 225% and bam, small boxes again. Its weird though that it is ONLY the layers boxes. Nothing else. Even the sheets and such are scaled properly.
It would seem that anything other than 100% scaling seriously affects this particular dialog. I guess it may affect other dialogs as well, but this is just the first one you noticed.
Yeah...well I can say this really sucks. I can work at 1080p on a 42 inch monitor, work at normal 4k with tiny little boxes, or just go back to the laptop....I don't like any of those choices
The list boxes with checkboxes and other things on them are what's called owner drawn and to get them displayed correctly requires that the host software (CC3 in this case) not make any assumptions about display resolution or the relative size of text as compared to the images. The behavior you describe is typical of incorrect support for display scaling. It will affect the layer dialog, the sheets dialog, the effects
CC3 doesn't work correctly with display scaling because it makes the assumption that the checkbox images don't need to be scaled. CC3+ does better in this regard in that the bitmaps are scaled to approximately the right size, but the bitmaps can be a little chunky. Of course, Windows keeps adding new ways to mess with programs that were just minding their own business and there are now two distinct scaling nightmares to deal with.
