Map of the "Blautann" - a forest famous for its witches and mythical beasts, from the German rpg "Das Schwarze Auge". It will feature prominently in next weekends rpg retreat with friends from high school. :)

I looked into that system after you mentioned it in the video. Could not believe it has had 5 editions over the years. That is pretty cool.
Also amazing that you have been gaming with your friends so long. The Dark Eye being high fantasy is a setting I would like to read up on more.
Not seeing any giant spiders in those woods though, Ralf 😉 🕷️!
@Don Anderson Jr. : I suspect DSA only started to be recognised by the English-speaking RPG community in the early 2000s, after the first English edition appeared. I discovered it because a UK supplier was selling cast metal miniatures for it around then too, and started investigating. Since then, other non-English RPGs have begun making an impact too - the recent release of the Swedish RPG as Dragonbane by Free League, for instance.
Das Schwarze Auge was created when TSR wanted to high licensing fees for a German-version of D&D back in 1984 and became THE German rpg because they were backed by a major German boardgame company (Schmidt Spiele). It's been dominating the German rpg (with ups and downs of course) ever since.
It's game world "Aventurien" has a continuing official history since at least the late 80s, and as a consequence is the most detailed fantasy world that I know of. The amount of available (not not-available-anymore) content is just staggering.
That is pretty awesome. I always thought one of the most comprehensive worlds was the Forgotten Realms. Though Dungeons and Dragons rule the market here. Us in Canada didn't start getting other systems until a fair bit later when retailers started to widen their product ranges.
Curious if it featured much in White Dwarf.
Did you contribute anything to the system or world?
It was very seperate from the English-speaking rpg world for a long time, so no mention in WD that I know of.
I've got a pretty good collection of the 3rd and 4th edition source books and boxes (far from complete though), but I was always just a collector and no contributor to this. Personally I'm actually much more involved in the English-speaking rpg scene than the German one.
Those 15 green books are bleeping wicked. Just the co-ordinated spines are worth the money. Love them.
OMG, this map is forcing me to realize how much my German vocabulary has faded over the years....
IseHolz...somekind of wood/forest.
Tannen...ugh. All I remember is something about Christmas LOL.
Time to break out the German dictionary, I can see.
Awesome map, Meister Ralf
