How to make center of symbol snap to grid instead of bottom
I'm trying to create a quick dungeon and unfortunately a lot of objects (trap doors, tables, chairs) seems to snap the bottom of object to the grid instead of center as I saw in some videos.
What am I doing wrong?

Are you talking about the snap grid, or a drawn grid you have added to the map?
If that's the case, make sure your snap grid is aligned with the drawn grid.
They seems to have the same size. How do I check if it is aligned?
I just set the grid to 5 ft during creation.
Can you show me a screen shot of the map with the grid and the snap grid visible?
Here you go. As far as I can tell the cursor is aligned to grid but the anchor is on the side of the table instead of middle.
Ah, I see. The symbol origin (the point at which the symbol is attached to the cursor) is aligned centre left. Most more recent styles have the symbol origin at the centre, but this style is one of the odd ones out.
It is possible to edit the origin of a symbol, but if you only have a few to paste it's a lot faster to turn off the snap and align them by eye.
Ok. Thanks. So I use the old style?
Maybe 'old' is the wrong word, since DD3 has it's roots way back and most if it's symbols have centre origins. It's just a small number of styles that happen to include this one.
Symbols usually have their snap point (origin) set based on the intended use of that particular symbol. Especially things that are meant to go against a wall or next to another symbol have edge snaps.
The main downside in general here is of course that symbols may have more than one appropriate way of being used. And of course, sometimes the origin point is just plain and simple wrong.
I recommend doing as Sue suggest, just turn off snap whenever you need to place a symbol that doesn't snap like you want it to. Personally, I usually work without snaps when placing symbols anyway, it tend to be a little bit to regular if all the chairs are in the middle of their square and so on. Snap for symbols is mostly needed when you need that perfect alignment.
I hate using snap and smart symbols. I like to place everything manually. Like Monsen I like to give them those little tweaks, so they aren't 100% organized.
