Medieval English Town resource

I was trying to find a source that would say how much area different medieval towns took up. I wasn't able to but did find this site:

Thought others might find it interesting to see. There are actually a bunch of John Speed maps on this site too. Though I didn't find what I was looking for, I did find all sorts of other information that was useful in my CD3 maps.

BTW, anyone know of a resource that lists the actual area covered by medieval towns?

I have a popup blocker running, so I don't know if these have popups or not. I did a google search on 'midieval towns maps', 'maps medieval times', and 'middle ages maps'. I only posted 3 of the sites i found. Note, in the past I found sites hosted at about.com to have popups. So I didn't post any of those.

Hi!

I'm used to reading that book : http://www.yourgamesnow.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=10 (a free short PDF is also availalble that explain a lot: http://index.rpg.net/display-entry.phtml?mainid=8725). It explains in details the relationships between society and towns structures, inhabitants, workers and so. Very useful for designing and mapping.

I made a NBOS Character Sheet (free http://www.nbos.com/products/charsheet/charsheet.htm) dedicated to town (and cities) based on the rules depicted in the above book and that calculates structure types and numbers according to various parameters (population, surfaces, neighbourhood). Then I use that data to draw my city into CD3... No relevant examples but a quick and ugly one (attached). The template is in French but can very easily be translated to any other language.
