CC3 and Win7 Problem

I just recently got a new computer. Today I just got CC3, CD3, DD3 and SS1 and 2 installed. Everything seems to work fine (once I redownloaded DD3 without the NET stuff) except for one thing. Every time I attempt to run CC3 I get an administrator warning asking me if I want to run this program. The only way I can get it to stop asking me every time I run it is if I go into User Account Control Settings and turn off Notifications which I don't want to do. It's the only program I've come across so far that this happens for. I've had the request come up the first time I've ran a newly installed program, but once I've clicked on Yes it's never asked me again. CC3 gets asked every single time. I've tried running it as an administrator, I've run it in WinXP compatibility mode and still it keeps asking.

Any suggestions?

This article describes how to disable UAC for a single app: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/window-on-windows/?p=635
Note that it is a bit complicated, and I've never tried it myself, so I cannot say if it works or not, or help with any problems.

I believe that the UAC prompt happens because CC3 wishes to write to it's own directory however, so another workaround is to install CC3 somewhere else than inside the program files directory (for example to c:\CC3), since UAC is set up to protect this directory, and only allow write when a program runs with administrative privelegies. Installing outside the program files directory removes the CC3 dir from UAC protection.
  • I actually don't have it installed in it's default directory. I don't even have it installed on the C drive. I have a fairly small solid state drive (80 gig) with my OS on it so I install all my programs onto a secondary drive. (E:)

I'll take a look at that site and see if that helps. Thanks for the help.

Did you install it as the administrator? That's the most important thing.
