Showing grid in exported images

Hi all. When I save my maps as JPGs, I would like to maintain the grid. But I can't find a way to do so. Is there a setting that would allow me to keep the grid in the exported images? Thank you for any assistance.

It sounds like you are trying to export the snap grid. That doesn't work because it's a drawing aid within the app rather than a graphic construct.

You will have to create an actual grid.

In the Draw menu pick Hex or Square Overlay...

This dialog will appear. Adjust the settings and hit Apply.

This will place a grid on the GRID sheet in your map.

If you make a mistake don't worry - just delete the new grid and try again.

"Select points" is for when the automatic extent doesn't work the way you want it to. If you use that option instead of Apply, you pick the corners of the extent you want the grid to cover.

  • Ah, thank you so much friend! That is immensely helpful!
