Wondering about new file extensions

CC3+ has been out a Looong time, and it is still my first choice in designing maps. It's a fantastic product, and I recommend it often to other gamers.
I was just wondering, since it has been written, the file format WEBP has been established, and it has a much higher compression ratio than the current JPG, GIF or PNG options. Are there plans yet or will there be plans to implement this new file type?

It's possible this might be considered in developments in the future if there is more demand for it, but in the meantime you can very easily convert any of the bitmap exports from CC3 to WEBP format in GIMP, which is free software you can get here.
Open the bitmap in GIMP and then go to Export as... in the File menu, and pick your export file type from the dropdown Select File Type, name it, and away you go.
While it might not be optimal, cwebp easily converts jpg2and png to webp. It's easy enough for some uses.

Yep. I have GIMP. your answer is exactly as I expected, so I decided to put it out there so that if others were interested, they could also bring it up as a feature they find value in.
Thank you very much. Once again, I have always been impressed with this software, and I recommend it whenever the discussion comes up. In my experience the program quality and support have been the best I've seen in most if not all products like this that I have had experience with.
