Hi Everyone! :D
In our live mapping session this week, Ralf will be back with a demonstration of how to do a classical Western town in City Designer. Since we don't have a dedicated style for such a settlement, Ralf will be combining CD3 and DD3 assets in this mapping session to create a mostly wooden frontier town.
Come and watch the live session and join in the chat here:

Or if you wish you can watch it here, although there is no live chat on the forum.

I'm up to my eyeballs preparing something right at the moment, so I repeated what Ralf said on his FB announcement. But maybe you think differently?
Most of the old west U.S. photos I've seen are in sepia tone, with a few B&W images. With some hand-painted B&W photos with color paints.
Of course, it depends on which decade in the 1800s Gregorian.
I seem to remember one old west town painted mostly red... [Clint Eastwood movie reference 😉🤠🏜️]
Ah, yeah. Western style, but not really the right scale.
30 minute shout :)
It's not really a complete project, but if you want to check out details of last night's mapping session, here is the map I worked on.
Thanks Ralf :)
I did a bit more looking around on streets and buildings in the old west.
If they didn't have boards for a sidewalk, the buildings might be slightly elevated, with 2 to 4 steps up into the buildings.
I'm currently watching The History Guy, History that Deserves to be Remembered on youtube.
The Lowdown Murder of Morgan Earp in Tombstone, Arizona. It contains several photos of the town, and an overhead sketch of the town. Also some reenactment photos with tourists watching. Along with photos of newspapers from that time, including photos of the various people involved.
You might take a gander at the video I just mention above pardner, it might settle the question of yor quest.
