Regular poly vs Irregular (shape)

Hey all! Hope everyone is enjoying the Fall for those getting it or Spring, etc. Currently working on this map for our 'Supernatural' game. GM wanted a small town in Montana.
How-to question: see the weird, purple glowing worm? That's an Essaence Flow. I'd like to draw that as a symmetrical shape yet still retain the various curves and so forth. Now, in my mind I see myself drawing a thin rectangle and editing nodes until I get what I want; but isn't there something Remy showed us on how to do this much more easily? I can't remember enough to even search for it.
Please help.

I'm not entirely sure what you trying to do... what you mean by symmetrical shape? Should it be equal width all along?
Hey Ralf,
Yeah. By using any of the poly tools. I could just use a 'road' tool and alter as I wish. But I seem to remember Remy demonstrating a way to do this using a poly tool.

Not sure exactly what you are referring to here. Polygons can be mirrored, but only along a straight line.
You may be thinking about using an offset, but if so, you'll need to draw one line, then making an offset from it, and then join them together with Combine Paths and Close Poly to create an actual polygon, and not just a series of lines.
Hmmm... I'm probably wrong, but have you tried a polygon and draw by hand ? With the appropriate color/bitmap fill that is.
CORRIDOR is an option for uniform width paths, but it's a little limited and doesn't work with draw tools.
And TOFFSET will do a double offset (one to each side of a center spine) to get a constant-width path. You'd need to close it up and set the fill, though.
But if you want to do a constant width path, why not use a wide smooth path from the start? You can apply fills and sheet effects to that like to a polygon.
If you want to keep one side of the polygon you've already drawn, use the Break command (BREAK) to remove the other side, then change the width and perhaps move it a bit.
Thanks everyone.
I'll try them all.

And I should say that I really like the current look. :D I think the variance of width looks good here.
Yes - I also really like the map as it is. Great sheet effects on the glowing purple worm.
Thanks again, everyone.
Because of Sue and Ralf, I will keep the original shape. It's just my OCD kicking in again. 😁
thanks
