What does this message mean? I keep having it pop up and I don't know why or what to do. The most recent occurance happend when I was using the left column of recently used symbols - or rather symbols previously used symbols in this map.
EDIT: I can't place any symbol on the map at all.

Try save, close and reopen?
If that doesn't, try typing selbyd and press the enter key. A macro may have failed.
both of you have given me the answer coming at the problem from different points but I'm not sure if the system will let me accept both solution.

no its all working as well as it was doing day before yesterday.
I don't know what caused the error, but usually that same dialog appears if you mis-type a keyboard command - only it repeats the mis-typed command letter for letter rather than that distinctive XPSYMCAT; one.
I've had the XPSYMCAT; one myself a couple of times, and the same 'can't use the symbols' experience. It does sort itself out though if you restart CC3. It must be some internal call for a command that goes wrong under certain rare conditions.
