Reinstalling on a new machine - where do I find my custom tools to import?

greetings all, new on the forums (and apologies if I missed this subject during my search). I am about to upgrade my PC, and am currently saving my FCW files to an external drive. Is there a way to save "copies" of my custom draw tools and sheet effects settings? I'd love to have these all saved and ready to import, rather than rebuilding them all - if this is an option where can I find them?

The map below is an example; I created multiple bevel sheets that now inhabit a custom "Desert tools" custom Effects Preset. Can I find this file and export/import the set into a new install?

I may be showing my ignorance of the software here, but on a clean "install" of CC3+, will saved FCW files produced with custom sheet effects "export" the effects to the map, or will those sheets and effects no longer exist on the clean new install?

Thanks in advance for any assistance, I appreciate the community!

Saved effects settings are found in @System\Effects. They are regular .fcw files

Drawing tools are found in @System\Drawtools. Each style has it's own folder here, and each draw tool is a .dto file, and if it is a macro tool it will also have a .dtm file and optionally a .fcw (for preview) file.

Effects are stored in the map, so existing maps will have all their effects on a new install.

  • I love your bevel work. What base style did you use for the sand?
