Offset Symbol Placement

Hello all.
Can anyone please tell me why the following situation happens? I move a symbol to a spot where I want it to appear on the map, left click, and the symbol appears in a different spot.

I figured it out. Snap was turned on. ^.^
I like to keep the "Cursor snap" option on (checked, as per the image below) to avoid confusing myself with this sort of things.
