Hi Everyone! :D
In this week's Live Mapping session Ralf will be looking at another classic map style: Jon Roberts Overland. Join him live as he uses this beautiful style from the 2011 Cartographer's Annual.
Or you can join in the conversation on YouTube here:

Is there a reason we are revisiting the Jon Roberts style overland maps when this style was done in a previous video and there are so many more styles that have not been done in a video before?

I think we both forgot that one.
But in our defense it was 2 years ago, and there have been nearly 100 shows since then.
It's probably a bit late to change it now that so many people have shown an interest over on FB today.
Just wondering if maybe some new stuff was coming out for the style.
No new stuff, but if you think about it you never see everything a style can do in just an hour anyway, so we will probably learn a bit more yet.
30 minute shout :)
I'm here.
It would be great if the fcw was attached to the tutorial video. In here I mean.
My broadband was breaking up and on and off for the last several minutes, Jim, but I think Ralf mentioned that towards the end.
Yes, he did Sue. He also said to remind him if he forgot.
What giant swamp flowers...? 🌼
LOL!
Thanks Wyvern :)
The giant swamp flowers that... never mind.
As promised, here's the drawing I created during the live stream.
Hurrah ! Downloaded and thanks !
Is anyone else having issues with the Audio in this video. Seems to be lagging well behind the video. It's lagging behind 5minutes and 37 seconds. This is happening on two different computer, my phone and all are on different network connections.
Not really. But this happens to me quite often when I watch videos at playback speeds other than the normal speed. Perhaps this is your case?
I noticed the compass rose and audio about placing it, came on my cell phone on youtube, before it showed up on my desktop computer here. I didn't track the time difference.
Doesn't seem a problem with the video at least. I tried watching for a while, and then I tried jumping around to different parts of it, and it was always in sync.
Could have been a temporary YouTube problem if it wasn't done processing the video.
Just did a quick check both viewing the video here on this topic and also on YouTube, though not for very long, only checking random short segments - and hey, wow, the chat survives now on the edited version!
Not seeing any problems with lag on either, however. Could have been a YouTube problem as Monsen says, or maybe some odd glitch on the broadband connection?
No idea. I hadn't looked at both at the same time before.
My cell phone connects via my phone provider and my computer connects via my cable modem.
More likely there is a difference between the two providers. I've been having problems with the cable modem provider for the past 2 months.
