Editing to add how I did this; it is the Sarah Wroot style, with one solid mountain at the top of the range exploded to get rid of the big mass of grey. The labels and the red scrawl have no effects on, for clarity. The map itself is very simple, and Wroot let me be minimalist, leaving room for the insane genius to plot his revenge on those who had slighted him.

The compass was the default one with the Sarah Wroot set. I exploded it, used the Trim too to get the lines out to the edges, and re-grouped it so I could not delete bits by accident.
