Is there a way to import symbol blocks without having to do them one at a time? I have a set of 10 pages of blocks with hundreds of symbols. One at a time seems long and involved.

No, not that I am aware of.
If the symbols are set up with a fixed distance in the block, I guess it might be possible to write a macro to help you, but this isn't something I've explored so I am not sure if it will work.
