WIP: Kariss, Isle of the Purple Towns

Hi Folks,

Continuing with my mapping of Elric's Young Kingdoms I present my initial work on Kariss, the Isle of Purple Towns first, and some say only, capital. For the cities of The Isle of Purple Towns (and quite possibly all the cities in the YK), I'm sticking with CA25 Fantasy Cities.

I've had a bit of fun creating hatchure lines for the elevations which took up the majority of my time this evening.

The 1st pic shows with the reference bitmap, the second without. The hatchures aren't perfect but I think they'll suffice.

Hand-drawn hatching of any kind shouldn't be perfect; the trick is to get it to still look good in the final item, and I think you've managed that very nicely!

Thanks @Wyvern. I was contemplating using the same technique for the cliff lines for the watchtowers and lighthouse but I think, despite it taking much longer, I'll do them by 'hand'... like I did for Mernii.

Work continues. The buildings aren't the correct colours but they're on the correct layers for the various types so changing them to the same colours as my Mernii map won't be difficult...
