Edit Landmass

Well I show you what my Problem is ...
so Step 1,2,3 I click on Landmass, Press E to Edit, Click start and the Line jumps over to a Island I never clicked on instead to the point where I want to have it.
Why is that and what can I do better?

Is that land mass a multipoly?
Use List from the Info menu to see whether it is a straightforward polygon, or a multipoly made up of several polygons.
Multipolies can't be traced. If that's what it is you will have to explode it first.
Also make sure the landmass is on the correct layer. To make it easier to only select appropriate entities, the tools only allows edits of entities on the correct layer. For the Mike Schley Overland style, the landmass should be on the RELIEF/CONTOURS layer.
As a user who does not work with the program on a daily basis and not professionally, CC3+ is quite a challenge. The fact that I still work with cc3+ is mainly due to your fast and excellent support. Thanks for that !!!
