Is there anyway to create new icons?

I was designing my overland map, however, I ran into an issue where there are no icons that really match the city type that I need, so I was hoping it would be possible to design my own icons in Photoshop, however I do not know the export parameters or specification I would need/would they be available.

More specifically, I am designing a walled city that lies over a major river, together with a river port, so I was hoping to model a set of castle-like walls so that I could put them outside the city and then put the already existing models inside.

It starts with vector-based assets, but you may jump to 42:05 if you're already comfortable with creating symbols. This should be enough to get you started (and then come back with more questions, maybe? ;)

Note that symbols in CC3+ are just standard .png files. To get the right size, they should be 20 pixels per map unit for overland maps (so 20 pixels/mile), but you can also scale them inside CC3+ itself.
