Lost a symbol . . . by messing around :(

Uggghh. I was playing with the Symbols Manager and "managed" to delete a symbol that I need to use in my map. Was the Mike Schley scrubland. What happened is that the Scrubland 1 became a sub-symbol of Scrub and the Scrubland 2 is now absent. Is there a way to retrieve that symbol for the map I am working on or do I have to start over with a fresh map? The symbol still exists in the files, but I have no idea how to bring it back to this map.

I apologize. Scrubland 1 is absent and Scrubland 2 became part of the Scrub grouping . . . which makes more sense anyway.
Whatever you do in Symbol Manager in your map only affects what you see in the symbol catalog window when you use Symbols in Map. No matter how much you mess around, you should be getting the normal view when opening a symbol catalog, for example by clicking a symbol catalog button.
(Only way to mess with the actual symbol catalogs is to open them up for editing using file -> open as opposed to loading them into the symbol catalog window)
Here is what I see:
I did look through the entire catalog in case somehow I renamed it. It is just not there.
I did confirm that the file itself is still in the Mike Schley folder.
I've attached a copy of the original symbol catalog. Can you try to copy the attached file to the @CC3Plus\Symbols\Maps\Mike Schley folder, overwriting the one already there.
Closed program, replaced the file, opened program . . . but nothing changed. Thanks for the idea. I did also reinstall the entire free monthly symbols, but now that I think about it, the Mike Schley regular stuff may have been in on the annuals I purchased, not part of the free extras.
Interestingly, when I use tab while holding the scrub symbol, the scrubland doesn't show, even though it is hidden under the main scrub symbol when not expanded.
One thing I should mention, though it has never presented a problem before, is that I am using a Mac and Crossover to run CC3+. Like I said, besides trying to navigate the wacky file tree folders to get to the correct folders, I have never had any issues with the program through Crossover.
Well, I did learn that it is map related somehow. I started a new map and everything is properly in place.
I think I must have deleted the symbol definition from the map. I may have gotten the purge and delete functions confused.
Looking at the other functions, maybe using "import" would bring the definition back. Thoughts?
No go. Well, I'm stumped. Looks like I'll have to start from scratch. Is there a way to copy what I have into a new map?
Deleting them from the map still shouldn't affect the symbol catalog though. After opening the problematic map, did you try and change symbol catalogs to something else, and then back to the vegetation catalog, using the symbol catalog button in the top toolbars?
As for copying thing to a new map, that is easy. You can either copy everything to the clipboard (Edit -> Copy) [Just keep an eye on the prompt to make sure you complete the command properly] and then paste it into another map, or you can use Draw --> Insert File to insert the old map into a new one.
Yes, I did. It really is a mystery what happened, and I don't know the tools well enough to backtrack what I did to cause the missing symbol. I will try to copy over the map design to a new map file. I was just looking up how to open two CC3+ instances on Crossover to do the copy to clipboard method, but maybe the insert file method will work better.
