I am quite prepared to declare today National Flood Drain Grill Day, what with how close that beast came within range of the real-life painted visual output. Very, very pleased with BLUR here. Don't forget to observe BLUR Appreciation Day, later this month!
Also happy with leaving layout lines/sketches in the final image. Doesn't necessarily show here yet, but I did it with the spesss mareeen and it kind of has visual merit:
It is, of course, extremely helpful to be able to actually use real-life techniques of going from sketch to finished product. Not that I hand-draw anything: it's still just the standard path/line and circle tools at work here. But it makes it so much easier to plot the paths over references for proportions and general layout etc.
Again, I couldn't draw that in real life. I know how to plot a path; the software is just superior with regards to actually drawing the shapes.

I agree! I can't see much difference, but I also prefer A. It's thinner, isn't it?
A seems to cast a stronger shadow, so more sturdy.
B weaker shadow, more decrepit.
Yeah, it's thinner @Loopysue.
I'm going for option C, the final refinement of the technique....
Is that wrought iron, or barbed wire, like in OZ where we use megatonnes of the stuff.
In the right context it could probably work as both.
Getting there, I guess!

I cant spot any difference either - but A stands out a little more for me
