Hi All - im trying to use Cosmographer for my Traveller game. I have many worlds with a UWP size of less than 7 and im struggling to adjust the template to reconcile this.
Can anyone help please.
Im looking to create templates of Size 1 through 6.
If you mean diameter, I adjust it in FT3 under
Map menu at the top, World Settings which opens a tab. Primary tab.
You can adjust the circumference there.
I have made large worlds and moons using those settings. Exports all look the same size, then I use the UWP and text on my web site to explain the diameter. I have made 8.8K miles, 25.4K miles, 36K, 37.7K, and 50k for different sizes and gravities.
Ice worlds, dry ones like Mars, different amounts of water, etc. Below is a link to my Traveller site for examples.
Hi there - no i didnt but thankyou for sharing the link.
In Cosmographer 3 there are templates for the traditional mapping style for Traveller with the triangle type maps. You then place hex symbols etc into the template. There are templates for UWP 7+ but not for 1 - 6.
Ive tried to create my own but failing miserably. I was wondering if there are already some around that ive not been able to find etc
Nope, just the one template. My apologies, I thought you were referring to planet diameter.
Not a problem at all, i wasnt very clear in my request :-)
Im looking at Traveller 5th edition and the UWP for planetary diameter has an effect on the template sizing especially when at lower numbers. Cosmographer 3 appears to come with 7 - A but to not 1 - 6.
Hmm... I just name the planet, as an example: Joe's World 25000 miles circumference on the 'Planet Name' line.
Probably will end up being the easiest solution. Just returning to Traveller after a break of c40 years 🤣.
I'm kind of determined to give it a polished look.
