After I finished the map of Ayreon I started with mapping the first realm. I copied the particular region of the Ayreon map and pasted it to the new map that uses the scorched earth style. I changed most of the symbols and used the "Change like drawing tool" command to change the textures and this is the result so far.

    An interesting approach :)

That black patch around the volcano looks rather sharp and a bit dark for the style. If there is no volcanic terrain fill I would be tempted to put it on its own sheet and add an Edge Fade Inner sheet effect to it, then adjust it so that the outer edge is zero and the inside is about 50 perhaps?

  • Yeah, I thought I put it on an extra sheet but it doesn't look like it. :) I would try how it looks with a transparency effect, too 🤔. I agree that it looks really out of place as it is now but I will check tomorrow when I'm back from work. :)

You can set the transparency using the Edge Fade Inner, which kills two birds with one stone.

  • I think I'm done. This is desert realm Eppi'Ka. Everything went smooth so there isn't really much to tell. But this is the result :D

Good looking map. But perhaps the edge of the grasslands west of the mountains is a bit sharp?
