Sheet effects on startup.

It seems that anytime I open a file, the effects are turned on. is there a way to open a file with the effects turned off? the size is 3.19 Mb,

Click the Display Speed button on the left toolbar (the hourglass icon). It has the option whether to load a map with effects on or ff. Note that this is a map-specific setting and saves with the map.

Normally the settings are for the effects to be off on opening the file, but occasionally a template may have been set up with them already on.
To turn the setting off, open the Display Speed settings dialog (the hourglass on the left) and uncheck the "Effects are on when loaded" box. Ok, then save the map.
EDIT: LOL! Ninjad by Ralf this time! That will teach me to take too long looking for the hourglass icon in the button folder... and failing to find it.
