These images are from the portfolio of Wolfgang Braun, who has spent 50 years reconstructing the castles using a combination of factual evidence and fantasy extrapolation where things were unkown about them.

They are excellent inspiration for fantasy castle floorplans
These are indeed great. Just goes to show how many castles we have here, that I have hardly visited any of his reconstructed sites, though I have visited a few.
This one is close to my home, and here you can see how much reconstruction he had to do:
No wonder it took him 50 years!
