Chkdata dav has no pending DRQ?

Hello,
I'm new to the forum, just purchased the world builder bundle (i've wanted it for ages) and have it all installed. I had a roommate with CC2 years ago and loved it, but I've been travelling about for sometime so couldn't settle down to really start world building :)

So I've been going over manuals, played around with making a small first world and then decided to start doing all the tutorials. When I try to open any of the Examples/Userguide maps or any others provided with the software I get the error: "chkdata DAV has not pending DRQ MENUDM #fce32.mnw" and then it goes on to try and find various symbol catalogs and then freezes and crashes. Any idea what I need to do? I've installed the menu patch and Patch7. It's hard to work through the practice files like this :)

I can already see the huge changes between CC2 and CC3, now with CD3 and DD3 etc etc I can really start working on stuff. Thanks for all your help.

  • Hi,

    Are you sure of your message ? Isn't it MENUDM #fcw32.mnu instead of #fce32.mnw ?
    If the message is indeed fce32.mnw two possibilities
    i) you have such a file but I don't. Navigate to the Profantasy/CC3 folder and check.
    ii) your file is corrupted. Navigate to the Profantasy/CC3 folder and open the fcw32.mnu file with notepad and search (ctrl F) for the fce32.mnw string. Do you see it ?

    Have you tried installing the latest patch (Currently patch 7), available from your Registration Page
  • Monsen, I already installed the patch, twice as per instructions, but it still does it.

    Joachim, thanks for the help as well. The file is #fce32.mnu not mnw, I just typed it wrong. I opened it in wordpad and found the strings:

    #419,CC2:[Map Menu]{~|CMENU #SYSTEM\MAP.mnc;}~|LOADCC3;MENUDM #fcw32.mnu;

    Campaign Cartographer:~|LOADCC3;MENUDM #fcw32.mnu;

    Those are the only two listed. I also tried to point the file to the correct path of the files it's looking for and as soon as I try that the program crashes, every time. Do I have to uninstall all the add-ons along with CC3 and then reinstall again to fix this or is there an easier way? thanks for all your help :)
  • The lines from fcW32.mnu are correct.

    There is a specify order to install the products :
    http://www.profantasy.com/service/faq.asp
    For example it says you must run the patch after installing CC3 and BEFORE installing addons.
    There are also some troubles with DD3 and .net version but I believe that if the version is wrong DD3 simply won't install.

    Sorry I can't help you more. You can always ask the technical service for more help.
  • I might try to just reinstall, it has been crashing when it shouldn't be, i'm on a duo-core machine with 3gb ram so it should run just fine. Is there any particular issues with doing an uninstall that I should be aware of? files that need to be removed, changed etc...

    thanks for all your help :)

    Not really, but to be completely sure, you can just delete the CC3 main directory after running the uninstall (if it is still there). Default location is C:\Program Files\ProFantasy\CC3

  • Sorry for the thread necro, but this is still occurring today (also have the World Builder bundle with a couple of extra symbol sets).

    It happens with CC3UG-DrawTool Edit.FCW and the message (and behavior) is the same as noted:

    ChkData DAV has no pending DRQ

    MENUDM #fcw32.mnu

    Followed by a couple of symbol selection menus and then a crash.
  • Yikes. I accidentally necroed a second thread posting my solution on there, so I'll repost it here:

    When the bug occurs, if I hit the cancel button for all the symbol set selection dialogues, eventually it dumps me back to the drawing without crashing out of CC3. I can then pull up File->Drawing Properties, click on Map Notes, click on OnOpenMacro, then Delete. Save the file, close out CC3, reopen it, no more crashing.

    Have you run CC3 Update 10? It's available from the registration page.
