Set normal symbol scale?

I created an overland map that is 3500 x 3500 miles and the default symbol scale appears to be 3.5. Is there a way to force it to 1.0?

If you right click when you have the symbol selected, you can be in the X/Y value and change it to 1. Also, you can check the default is correct, by when you right click, then hit set normal. If you have a symbol selected, then right click and move your mouse, you can increase or decrease the size. The size of the symbols will stay the same between symbols, e.g. you change the value down to 1.0 for one symbol and then click a new symbol, it will also be at 1.0.

Question is can I change the default for my map to 1.0 so that set normal sets it to the value I want (1.0 in this case)?

You can open the drawing properties by clicking on the button beside the Print button

In the Menu there you can set the default symbol scale to whatever you want
