I have a map of a city on a coast line. I'd like to copy that city and coast, but I don't need the ocean and nearby islands. I hope to paste this material to a new map. Any hints?
Sometimes, rather than copying to a new map, I save the current map with a new name using Save As, then just delete the parts that I don't need. If you really need to copy into a new map then hide the sheets and/or Layers that aren't needed and copy the rest.
If this is your first time using copy (Edit>Copy) then make sure that you pay attention to the command line because it will ask for what you want to copy as well as a point of origin. It won't copy to the clipboard if you don't supply both bits of info.
