How to remove an inserted filed

Inserted a file to trace over it but now I don't need it anymore, how can I remove the inserted file?

Select the layer it is on in the layer dialog.

Hide all and freeze all.

Click okay.

That should leave only the inserted file showing.

Delete it using the era command

Go back to the layer dialog, show all the all.

Click okay.
