Yreas Koltyn Village & the Firessi Temple In the southern Firessi Woods lies an ancient henge of standing stones, the Firessi Temple, that is the oldest and holiest shrine in the elven Kingdom of Enia. Here, the Archdruid of Enia resides in the neighboring village of Yreas Koltyn, a small community formed to support the temple and the countless worshippers who make regular pilgrimages to the temple. The henge consists of three rings of standing stones. In the inner ring, seven stones stand in support of the seven gods of the elven pantheon. The middle ring consists of seven arches and seven more individual stones. The outer ring consists of fourteen arches. The temple and the village are easily reached by the Firessi Road, also known as the Great Road, the widest road through the Firessi Woods. It runs alongside the Enia River, a mighty river that forms part of the southern border of the Kingdom of Enia after it leaves the woods. Most elven treetop homes in the Firessi Woods are well-hidden in the trees; most non-elves passing through a village would never know it. Because the Firessi Temple makes the village a destination for so many, the village of Yreas Koltyn is not as hidden as most elven villages, and even includes ground-level structures absent in most of the other villages in the woods. Most of the villagers live in elevated, multi-generational family homes hidden high atop the forest trees. These homes can be accessed from rope or wooden ladders that can be pulled up to impede access by intruders. Villagers can visit family and friends in their neighborhood without ever needing to reach the forest floor by walking along elevated walkways through their neighborhoods. The Archdruid's home is the only treehouse accessible by a proper set of stairs. The massive multi-level structure is also the seat of government for the village. It includes accommodations for visiting druids and also connects to three treehouse homes set aside for important guests. Most visitors stay at the inn (#4) on the forest floor, stabling their horses at the community stables (#3). A general store (#5) provides goods and sundries for sale to villagers and visitors alike. Because it would be dangerous to cook in the trees, residents and guests who aren't dining at the inn can dine at the Great Hall (#8). A small aqueduct (#6) brings fresh water from Airelle Creek to the kitchens (#7) and community baths (#9). On pleasant evenings, a great bonfire can be lit (#10), around which the elves sing and dance. Like other elven villages in the woods, Yreas Koltyn's agriculture is cleverly hidden in the forest - fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, and root vegetables all planted in a way to look wild and indigenous to anyone stumbling upon them. This food is supplemented with the wild game that the elves hunt, and by supplies brought in nearly daily with the caravans bringing pilgrims to the temple. Six watchtowers are hidden in the trees, guarding the temple and the roads that access it. 1. Great Firessi Temple 2. Archdruid 3. Stables 4. Inn 5. General Store 6. Aqueduct 7. Kitchens 8.
