  • Blast form the past - TSR's Homlet

Thanks Dak, that's a module I bought about the time I got married so it never saw the light of day on my game table. I can't complain though, I still have the wife AND the module so life is good!

  • Marine Dungeon - a Cartographer's Annual development thread

That reminds me of an old Judges Guild module called Modron. As I recall it had both a land component and and accompanying underwater adventure. Perhaps it can provide some inspiration for additional symbols and embellishments. Here's a link to the Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modron_(Judges_Guild)

  • Symbol challenge?

DoubleDouble, I think we could just submit to this thread and simply note at the beginning of the post "SYMBOL CHALLENGE SUBMISSION - ..."

  • Bronze Age symbols?

Now I have a suggestion for you. What makes a "wall" look like a wall from the bronze age? The art you hang on it. There is a wonderful tutorial inside the thread "Playing around with Perspectives 3" that Ralf added. It describes how to create shearing symbols. If you were to search the internet for "Knossos Frescos" I dare say you would find at least ten useful examples which you could download and use to create symbols to make a "bronze age" wall(s). Once you get the hang of it, you can use the technique to produce any number of culture specific wall decorations. No artistic talent required.

@Loopysue thank you so much for the texturing tip. I combined the wood texture I made with the changes you suggested.

Honestly, the bump texture is going to be lost over the "distance" of the render but I think it looks far better that the original I was using.

  • WIP: Egyptian Floral Motif Column

I'm sure I'll noodle with it for a bit then watch a few tutorials and discover that the appearance is more daunting than the actual use of it. That's how the modeling has worked out for me anyway. ?

  • Perspectives 3 - Log Fort

Thanks Sue. I finally got around to the texturing process and did a fast rough wood texture for the fighting walk and braces. I feel like I can crank out models/symbols pretty quickly at this point. Playing with the wall symbols in Perspectives 3 has me thinking about the potential for a Battle Map style with "fog of war" views.

  • May Symbol Challenge

@mike robel sounds like you visited Ft. Riley in the "off season." I had M.I.L.E.S. training there way back when. Nice weather about 3 weeks out of the year. Perfect place for an Army post LOL.
