  • May Symbol Challenge

@mike robel I was enlisted, regular Army from 1977-1980, HHC 3rd Bn 60th Infantry as an 05C Radio Teletype Operator out of Ft. Lewis Washington. I rode and had air conditioning/heat while others walked LOL. The rest of my time was as a 19D Scout/Recon instructor assigned to 1/322 CAV, Army Reserve out of Omaha from 1980 to 1985 when I got married and shortly thereafter had a two week traing stint at Fort Hood. After I returned from training I was informed by my wife that I wouldn't be reenlisting :-)

  • May Symbol Challenge

Sorry for the faulty assumption Tex. You would think I would know better since my wife Kyle gets that all the time! She even got a notice to register for Selective Service based on her name alone. @JimP Yup headache here too friend.

  • Symbol challenge?

DoubleDouble, I think we could just submit to this thread and simply note at the beginning of the post "SYMBOL CHALLENGE SUBMISSION - ..."

  • Marine Dungeon - a Cartographer's Annual development thread

That reminds me of an old Judges Guild module called Modron. As I recall it had both a land component and and accompanying underwater adventure. Perhaps it can provide some inspiration for additional symbols and embellishments. Here's a link to the Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modron_(Judges_Guild)

  • Blast form the past - TSR's Homlet

Thanks Dak, that's a module I bought about the time I got married so it never saw the light of day on my game table. I can't complain though, I still have the wife AND the module so life is good!

  • Too early for a CC4 wishlist thread, or is it timely?

I noticed someone commented about "old eyes." I feel your pain. GIMP (as an example) is difficult for me to work with because of both the color and the size of the 300 or so floating windows and tiny icons. I find myself using MS Magnifier just to be able to both find and use some of the tool features. There has to be a better way.

  • Bronze Age symbols?

Now I have a suggestion for you. What makes a "wall" look like a wall from the bronze age? The art you hang on it. There is a wonderful tutorial inside the thread "Playing around with Perspectives 3" that Ralf added. It describes how to create shearing symbols. If you were to search the internet for "Knossos Frescos" I dare say you would find at least ten useful examples which you could download and use to create symbols to make a "bronze age" wall(s). Once you get the hang of it, you can use the technique to produce any number of culture specific wall decorations. No artistic talent required.

  • My take on Judge's Guild Blackmoor

Thank you Lorelei. Funny that you mention Tegel Manor. I attempted a similar project in Perspectives. What killed it for me was the Hall of Portraits. I just couldn't find enough assets and I am horrid at life drawing LOL! I'd really love to see a Perspectives version of Tegel but the sheer scale is a daunting task.

  • The Creepy Crypt project

I'd like to see some small prayer shrines for inside the crypts in various cultural styles. Mausoleums need small, high windows that are oriented on cardinal directions for both moonlight and sunlight. Mists and fogs of various colors would be nice too. 🤤

  • Vertical wood pattern/grain for "wooden" walls in Perspectives

Please disregard, I figured it out.
