  • WIP - Wayward Village and Inn

I hand out my maps to players, frequently they came back to ask if a particular map came from me - this stops the questions. For some of the other C3 users where their work is closer to illustrations, I think it would also make sense. There are some pretty good creators out there - take credit for it!

  • Fanche Pass Campsite - Battlemap

My first battlemap. Explored sheets and effects. Still struggling with scale and symbol placement. Despite trying to calc the size in advance, I messed up and ran out of room - so horses are hobbled in an area off map. Suggestions are always appreciated!

  • WIP - Senan

Not much accomplished this morning - increased building density along pier and milling areas, fussed with roads and paths. Will start working on the south of river area or "old town" section over the weekend.

One of the ways I work is with pen and graph paper - I watch TV, and work on rough layouts and scale (my wife calls it diddle bopping).

The recent annual - Handdrawn Fantasy, is quick and easy enough that I have started using C3 to explore overland layouts.

Question - is it possible to create a similar simple style for Dungeons ? The idea would be to keep it simple, with just a few symbols to help scale rooms and identify their uses. I'm not a really sophisticated user - I haven't looked into creating scripts or drawing tools. What I'm thinking of would be kinda like:

  • First draft - The Moontide

    Write up:

    The Moontide

Loosely patterned after a Thames Class Barge, The Moontide is an open hold, double masted costal trade vessel. The forward cabin is a combination of galley and guest cabin. The rear cabin is the captain’s quarters. The ship is well kept and seaworthy.

The lower deck has a brig/secure hold towards the bow, the stern has smugglers compartment on either side of the rudder gear box. These are designed to be sacrificial; a larger smugglers compartment is accessed from a hidden panel in the livestock cage – leading to a large compartment running between the ballast compartments.

    Cargo is general trade goods.

    Crew:

Captain Jack (Red Eye) Agan (Bard). Think of Errol Flynn with a red eye patch, and a James Earl Jones voice. Wears emerald green leather armor and a scimitar, secretly and agent of Count Fen.

Sassy Agan (Sea Witch), wife of Captain Jack. A brassy, hard drinking red head – think Maureen O’Hara.

Davey Agan (Able Seaman), son of Captain Jack. Good with the long bow.

Gasper Erin (Able Seaman). Good with the long bow.

Noble Amat (Rogue). Quiet, dedicated to Count Fen.
