  • WIP - Senan

Good point - this is what happens when a Midwest Accountant suddenly decides that he can map.....nice neat layout with linear features.

So to pivot, I'll say that the area south of the river is "Old Town" and will try to make it a more realistic presentation. Will also move and adjust some of the existing buildings in the Shipyards and Milling Districts. The upper section will be the "wealthy" district.

I really appreciate the observation! Growing up in the US - particularly in the Midwest we have allot of green space (I'm now building a house in a area that requires a minimum of 1/2 acre per lot to facilitate septic..), and the major roads were I live are actually a well laid out grid.

    Senan - Liosach

    Brae Islands

    Background

Removed from his position by the Druids of Colaste for his anti-slavery position, as well as his

marriage to a Priestess; Count Fen has gathered the Houses that remain loyal and retreated to

    and fortified Senan.

In response, the Druids have turned over Liosach to House Goldenlilly, and cursed the forests

    around Senan

    Cursed Forests

Once lush forest land, the forests surrounding Senan have been cursed. The trees have

died off, and rumors of unusual creatures make the forests a dangerous place. The trees when

harvested and milled are an excellent source of ship building materials. The wood, although

requiring special tools to work remains buoyant, is tough, and fire resistant.

    Carragean Seaweed Beds

Harvested by Juanpi’s divers, the “leaves” of the plant are used as a food source, while

the stalks are retted at Loopy’s retting field. The short fibers are sold to Royal Scribe Services

where they are made into cold pressed paper. The long fibers are processed and sold to textile

makers: Ricko’s Textiles is known for its colorful fabrics; Calibre Sail creates rope and sail cloth.

    Up Town

Consists of the estates of the wealthy houses that have come to support Count Fen in

his exile. Other buildings include the Grand Cathedral, Castle Fen, and The Five Masters

    Military Academy.

    Lumber Camp

Just outside of the eastern walls, the lumber camp houses the rough necked men and

women that brave the dangers of the cursed forest to harvest wood for Anderson’s Lumber Mill.

    The Warrens

Consisting of tightly packed three- and four-story homes where the city laborers reside.

    Old Town

The original town center, consisted of a chapel, the town hall, entertainment center and

    open market.

    The Steel Reef

Some say that the reef was created by the fall of a clutch of fighting dragons, others say

they are remnants of great ships from a prior age. Steel Reef divers led by Master Diver Maidic

brave the dangerous waters to retrieve valuable precious metals – particularly high-quality steel.

Thanks for posting the fcw files - I learn a lot by taking others work and deconstructing. Great work!!!!!

  • WIP - Largo Cripts

Started to work on supporting battle maps - beginning with the chapel.

I used the room tool to create the rough layout and got this artifact, tried it a couple of times and got the same result - any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

Great thoughts - I usually pencil out my drafts; but I think this has convinced me to start working my drafts out in C3 . This has a double advantage: being able to hand out a rough map to players and more time working in C3 usually means learning more!

    Wayward Casino

Located in the front of the Wayward Inn, the Casino is run by Dapper Dan and order is maintained by Sweetie (Lead Bouncer) and her crew.

The doors behind the bar lead to the kitchen, beyond that is the Inn’s main dinning room. There are no windows and the only public entrance is the foyer off the street. On either side of the Common Casino are a set of stairs leading to a balcony and the “Rent by Hour” rooms. The Common Casino also has a small stage – currently playing are “Bletcher” Smites (Various Instruments) and Uvaldi (Singer).

The Casino takes 15% of each pot and charges table fees that range from a few coppers to 5 gold pieces. Games include: Poker, Cheater’s Poker, Whist, Roulette, Various Dice. There is also “Barrel Riding” contests where two opponents face each other standing on the barrel and exchange slaps.

The Casino is usually well attended with weekends being extremely busy.

    1.      Used Color Key on Grid. What a wonderful solution – I had been playing around trying to find a way. As soon as it was mentioned, I slapped my forehead and shouted “Duh”.

    2.     Moved “Balcony” floor to its own layer, adjusted stairways

    3.     Aligned Text sections.

    4.     Enlarged base drawing – thanks, again a great suggestion

I use the hex grid since it is intended to be a battle map, and it displays well on our home made tabletop.

Tomorrow is a travel day, so no more work until Sunday. As always - any comments or suggestions are welcome!!!

Added blank space filler, used a combination of Select Grid points and knock out for final grid. Think I'm on to the next one, unless anyone spots something else. Thanks All!!!!
