  • WIP: ESTONISCH CONTINENT BIRDSEYE

The disadvantage of having a separate sheet for the edge striping is that if you decide to modify the land shape you will also have to do exactly the same modification to the new EDGE STRIPE sheet polygons.

That is indeed a hollow in there.

    Thanks :)

    I always make varicolour symbols.

Don't forget this is just a first draft. There may be many different versions.

  • CC4 Overland Development Thread

Here is the first mountain draft dropped down on isometrically scaled borrowed Birdseye Continental textures. There will be new textures specifically for CC4 Overland, but the colour scheme will be much the same.

There are several things wrong with this first draft, like the base shape (which should be level rather than tilted) and the mountain colours (which definitely won't be kind of brownish), but the painting style is more or less the one that's worked best so far - no inking, but everything drawn with ink-style lines, but instead of drawing in black they are drawn in colour.

    What do you think?

  • Ricko's Questions

Dotted lines don't always behave the way you want. Most often, if you have longer bits in the line you can try fractionally adjusting the nodes using the move node tool. It's a fiddle, but a handy tip is to use as few nodes as you can for the line you want.

  • City on a Rock

City Cliffs is not a stand alone style, but a symbol pack that can be used in any regular city style.

Create a new imperial scale city map in a style of your choice and click the first icon on the catalog toolbar, Bitmap A Style Catalogs|CD3CATICON1|and select the CA63 Cliffs setting. This will load the new Cliffs catalog into the catalog window.

Choose the first symbol listed in the catalog window (called CA165 Cliff 1|10|1) and click where you want to start the cliff...

It works just like any other connecting symbol after that - providing you have picked an imperial map template. One of the things that we didn't realise until after the cliffs were released is that they simply don't work in metric templates.
