EDIT: The results to question 2 on the poll may be a little skewed. I answered 'No' to the first question and left the second one alone. However, it registered as a No by default.

@Royal Scribe - You might find this live mapping session from 2 years ago will help if you are looking for ways to add shaded relief to maps of this style.

Mixing styles is pretty tricky - especially when one is a highly refined ink and wash style and the other is photorealistic. It's often less jarring to stick to one style in a map if you can.
