Live Mapping: Frontier Town
Hi Everyone! :D
In our live mapping session this week, Ralf will be back with a demonstration of how to do a classical Western town in City Designer. Since we don't have a dedicated style for such a settlement, Ralf will be combining CD3 and DD3 assets in this mapping session to create a mostly wooden frontier town.
Come and watch the live session and join in the chat here:

Or if you wish you can watch it here, although there is no live chat on the forum.

Sinister Sewers - Style Development Thread (CA207)
I got so busy doing things and having various household appliances break down on me (like the boiler - just before the coldest week so far) that I forgot to show you the example map I did for Sinister Sewers, which was published yesterday as the March issue of the 2024 Cartographer's Annual.
I know there's a huge gap between the last image I posted and this one, but that's just the way life happened to me right at the end of developing this style.

OSR Dungeon Tiles - Quick Test
Ralf covered creating tiles (wilderness ones in his example) quite recently in this live stream.

Creating greater depth
That was Merelan City, and the thread is hugely long and would take about a year to read.
But to answer your question succinctly - yes each tier was smaller like a very steep hill. Each tier also had it's own set of subsheets so that the roads and buildings for each tier were 'on' that tier. I think it has about 135 sheets in all. The export is too large except in my album here, and the FCW has too many unpublished textures in it to be of much use.
