CC3+ don't launch
Most probably there is a problem opening the map. CC3+ loads the last map on startup, so if something goes terrible wrong doing that, symptoms like that can manifest.
Easiest way is to make sure all instances of CC3+ are shut down (use task manager to kill them if required, or reboot your computer), then instead of clicking the CC3+ icon to start the program, double click on any map file instead as that will start the program with that map instead (Obviously, don't try to double click on the suspected problematic map, but try something known good, like one of the example files that came with the program)

Share map with friends?
Assuming your friends don't have CC3+, the standard way would be to just export it as an image from the save as dialog. (See page 47 of thr User manual for details about the procedure). Optionally, you can print it to a pdf file instead, all modern versions of Windows comes with a virtual pdf printer installed you can print to to generate a pdf file.

Setting all Symbol Catalogs to default
There isn't any restore to default feature except reinstalling. When you change the symbol catalogs, you do changes to the actual catalog and configuration files, and these are persistent. There are no "default settings" for most things in CC3+, other than to replace the various files with clean versions.
If it is just the map settings in a single map that is messed up, causing it to load wrong catalogs and tools, you need to hit :CC2PRESETS: and set the map style back to the correct style for that map type, and if you have changed the OnOpenMacro map note, revert it back to the original settings by just copying the macro commands from a fresh map in the same style.

Setting all Symbol Catalogs to default
Note that if it is a single map, reinstalling will NOT help, as that won't change your map.
Just reinstalling the latest update won't help when restoring files to default, as that only replaces files contained in the update, i.e. things that have been updated since release, to restore original files you need to run the original installer (CC3+ base or add-on, depending on what you want to fix), and then re-run the latest update after doing that.

Grid problem with grid button: unwanted crash
There is a bug with a few of the Cos3 templates. You can grab an updated version of the installer from your reg page, or download the fixed templates only from here. That should hopefully fix things for you (note that fixed templates means it will work properly on new maps crated from these. For existing maps, I recommend just copying things over to a new map once you have confirmed this fix works for you)

All styles missing when creating new maps
If you don't see any options at all for map type in the new map wizard, then either CC3+ can't find it's data directory at all, or somehow the template sub-directory have been wiped out.
For the latter, just look into your CC3+ data directory and look for a Templates directory at the root of it, with subdirectories for each map type. If the templates directory is actually missing or empty, there isn't any approach but reinstall since you would be missing important files
As for CC3+ potentially not finding the data directory, that will also be accompanied with things like CC3+ having no menu bars and complaining about an invalid license, so it doesn't sound like this is the case based on your description.
I did try a test install+uninstall of SS5, but I couldn't find any problems with the installer. SS5 works after installing it, and uninstalling it doesn't break my installation, so I can't say exactly what might have happened for you unfortunately.
I would like to note one thing though, you say you don't use the documents directory to avoid filling up Onedrive with CC3+ files. But CC3+ doesn't use the documents directory by default anyway, the default installation location for the CC3+ data directory is c:\ProgramData\ProFantasy\CC3Plus which is not related to your documents directory. The only things CC3+ and addons will offer to install into the documents directory is a separate stand-alone copy of the artwork for use with other software (The "install a separate artwork folder" checkbox), this is NOT intended to be installed into your CC3+ data directory as these files are NOT for use with CC3+.

Guide: Posting Maps & Images
There are several ways you can post your maps to this forum. This post showcases the different options. See the comment below for an example.
Embedding in a post
The easiest way to post a map is to embed an exported image of it into a post. There are multiple ways to do this, you can click the small image icon at the bottom of the post editor to pick a file from your computer, you can drag a file from your computer, or if you have an image on your clipboard, you can even paste it with Ctrl+V. As long as it is an image (.png or .jpg), it will show up inline in your post.
The images are restricted to a maximum of 5 MB in size. Anything larger than that, and an error message will show in the post box. You can close this error message if you want by using the X in the top right corner of it, but it won't be included in your post either way. Uploaded images will be resized to fit in the post (max 1500x1500px), so uploading an image larger that that won't do you any good.
Note that even though images can be up to 5MB, smaller images is much kinder on people having slow or metered connections. I highly recommend that you stick to jpg images over png whenever possible. Jpg is much smaller, and the visual difference is almost non-existent. Jpg is often an issue for people editing the image, but you are usually not posting images for other people to edit anyway, but to showcase your own work.
Attachments
You can also create attachments to your post. Just as with images, you can drag and drop these, or click the attachment clip at the bottom of the post editor to add an attachment. Any files that are dragged into the post editor becomes an attachment if it isn't an image. Note that if you want to upload an image as an attachment instead of displaying inline, you can also use the attachment clip.
As for inline images, attachments are also limited to 5MB in size, and only common file types like text, pdf, office documents, CC3+ maps/templates/symbol catalogs and zip files are allowed.
Note that posting your .fcw files as attachments is a great way for people to take a closer look at your maps, but you should always accompany that with an inline image in the post too, so people can see it right in the forum without opening CC3+. People might not have CC3+ on the computer they are using right then, or they don't have the addon you used so they can't see all the symbols, or they might be on their cell phone or tablet, unable to sue CC3+.
Image Gallery
Every user have their own image gallery where they can upload larger images. You'll find your image gallery by going to your profile page, and then hit the Gallery link in the sidebar. This is also how you visit other people's galleries.
Here you can create your own galleries, and upload images up to 15MB in size to them. As for images in posts, please do consider that a lot of people have slow or metered internet connection, so it might still be worth it to use smaller images if you wish most people to enjoy your gallery, trying to go for the largest image size allowed just to get the best quality may not be the best user experience.
Again, please consider jpg over png. The visual difference is miniscule, and since jpg is so much smaller than png, you can upload an image many times the resolution than you can manage with png, actually giving you a better quality image because of it.
Another way to make the gallery better for people with slower connections is to not have too many images in each album. It takes time to load all the thumbnails when someone enters an album, so it is better to have multiple albums with fewer images than just a few ones with a huge number of images in each.
Linking to a gallery image from a forum post is as easy as to first visit the image in the gallery viewer, copy the url shown in the address bar, and then paste it into a post.

This time it is @arsenico13's entry going into the atlas:

Can CC3 export maps’ elements information for other software?
Kind of. The List command in CC3+ gives a lot of detailed information about entities, and it can be exported to a text file that shouldn't bee too hard to parse programmatically.
If that does not cover the need, it is also possible to write your own extension for CC3+ that can walk the entity list and generate whatever output you need, but of course, that does require a bit of programming.
