  • Feedback on Decluttering Text/Map Improvements

Personally, I think you are using too fancy a font for those smaller labels. Fancy fonts are difficult to read and look cluttered easily, even if they are thematic. I would recommend sticking with simple fonts for those.

You may also wish to try some color differences to isolate those larger area-spanning labels from the others.

  • How to Build a World Map With FT3 and CC3+

People have different ways of doing things. Myself, I prefer to export the the CC3+ landmass directly from FT (as in the video).

Posted By: Stephan72My problem is now figuring out how to customize the map now that I've got it in CC3+.
Change Like Draw Tool is your friend here.

  • Rendering Issues

The actual rendering issue MAY be caused what we call transparency acne, but it was difficult to see on your screenshot, which is why I also asked you if it was different if you tried a 5k square export instead of a 10k. Basically, TA can happen on entities with an edge fade or bevel effect where some of the colors of the fill are identical to the background below them. This can cause "holes" in the texture at the points where they are identical, and the edge fade effect then extends these holes, sometimes to the point of the original texture almost disappearing. If it is TA, one way to work around it is to put another entity (a copy of the top one, with another fill, such as a solid color) on a sheet sandwiched between the two holding the entities.

  • Deepzoom images for web display

Thanks for posting this and making a tutorial for it.

I haven't heard of OpenSeadragon before (been using Zoomify myself) but it looks like it does the job very nicely and easily.

  • [CC3+] Problem with manual tutorial (symbol manager)

When you use click New from the symbol manager and give it a name, you should be getting a new window to draw your symbol in, size defined by where you clicked inside the view window to place the corners. This window should be closable.

The error message you describe happens when you try to close the main drawing window.

It is also important that you draw your new symbol inside that new window, if you draw it in the main drawing window, it will just be a shape in the drawing, and not a new symbol.

From your description, it sounds like you may not be getting this new window? Make sure when you place the corners for it during step 3 in the tutorial that you click inside the drawing area itself, the reference to bottom/top corner means inside the drawing area, not on top of scrollbars/title bar/etc. When your cursor is in a legal position, you should have a crosshair cursor, and the command line should also inform you that it needs window corners.

Hope this helps, if not, don't hesitate to ask for more clarification.

I'll also be happy to be informed of any mistakes you find in the manual so I can investigate and correct them where needed.
