  • Question about running the CC3+ Program

When you see the fcw32.mac file, you are in the wrong folder. That is the data folder.

When you installed CC3+, it let you pick the location of where to put the data files (which you have put on d). The program files themselves are always installed under C:\Program Files (x86)\ProFantasy\CC3Plus, you don't get to change that. (A few notes here, if you have a non-english installed, these names may display localized in your language, and if you have a 32-bit version of windows, just drop the " (x86)" from the path)

But here is another way to make a desktop shortcut which works for any program (except MS store apps):

    1. Find the CC3+ icon in your start menu, right click it, select More, and then Open File location in the submenu.
    2. This will open an explorer window to the location the start menu shortcuts are placed. Now just right click the CC3+ icon here, and choose copy.
    3. Finally, right click on an empty area of the desktop and choose paste.

Edit: Seems you were posting your latest post as I was writing this, but I'll leave it up for reference.

  • NAN,NAN Problem

This usually indicates that the map is corrupted in some way.

Try the View menu -> Zooms -> To all Text. Pick one of the entries in the dialog. This will result in the map being zoomed close into that piece of text. Now try to zoom back out using :CC2ZOUT:. Save the map, then close and restart CC3+. Hopefully that takes care of things.

    Edit: Snaky mice afoot today...

  • FRIA Install Problem

I installed it fine on latest version of Win 10 a couple of weeks ago on my new computer (Program and all patches). The only issue I had was that my streamdeck software somehow prevented setup from continuing, it just hang without opening the GUI. Once I terminated the streamdeck software, the install proceeded just fine.

To check if any software is blocking an installer, you can open up task manager, go to the details tab and see if you find setup.exe there (or whatever the name of the installer). Then you can right click on it in the list and select Analyze Wait chain. If there is anything there at all, that's what blocking it.

  • FRIA Install Problem

Well, yes, I downloaded it from the official Wizards website some 20 years ago, that version have always worked fine. Unfortunately, I don't have the rights to redistribute it, so I can't provide you with my copy.

You should be fine with just Patch 3 though. Patch 3 was designed to completely replace the others. I know some discrepancies have been reported up through the years (of which some of these are noting more than old files left behind that were replaced by others, just not deleted when you install the update), but in general, patch 3 is designed to be the complete package, and can be installed without patch 1 & 2 installed.

These are seriously cool. Not using physical miniatures myself, but I still love these models.

  • vintyri Collection

If you followed my instructions above for finding the path, all you need to do is to move them so they match that path. I am guessing you just have an extra folder or missing one.

As an alternative, you can also extract the source zip again according to the instructions in the installation guide. Each of the four sets from vintiry comes with a rather detailed one.

  • Maps That show us a new perspective

I really loved the map showing all 7000 of the rivers feeding the Mississippi. Kind of cool how it collects water from a really huge part of the US.
